Great Weekend Outside (that is right!)
We had a wonderful weekend with the boys – the weather was great and we got the boys outside each afternoon. Chris used this time to try out his new Nikon camera and he got some really nice photos of the boys. I love that he loves the camera!
The boys played all weekend. From setting up Alex’s room for a “sleepover” to blowing bubbles all over the backyard, they were actually playing nicely together. Phew! Maybe the winter was making them be agitated with each other the last few weekends.
Alex had swim lessons on Saturday morning. Zach enjoyed time with Daddy, but I could tell that he was thrilled when we came home saying how nice it was outside. So after Zach’s nap (and I had already finished the laundry and gone grocery shopping!) we took the boys outside. Then we had them outside again today after church…Zach is now on hour three of his nap so he must have been pretty worn out. Yay!
For me and Chris, I went to a “Girls Night Out” on Friday evening. Each of us brought a dish or dessert for dinner. I really enjoyed the night with other moms from our church group. It was refreshing and great to have an evening of wonderful conversation. I got home late, but the evening went so fast. Then last night, Chris and I watched a movie – Chris had done his homework during the day so that we could enjoy the night. I made the Italian meatloaf recipe from his P90X food plan (who would have thought that turkey meat would be good for a meatloaf…did not really grow up thinking this way…) and we had some Light popcorn during the movie!
Sad that the weekend is ending. It is supposed to rain here for most (or all) of the week ahead so I’m happy that we got outside!

“NO” is the Word
Me: Zachy, do you want to read books?
Zach: No.
Me: Zach, time to brush teeth.
Zach: No.
Chris: Zach, let’s get into the car to go to school.
Zach: No.
Alex: Zach, can I give you a hug?
Zach: No.
(you get the drift)
Birthday Week of Fun!
Chris had a wonderful birthday spending most of the day (4 hours!) playing the Star Wars Clone Wars Xbox 360 game that Dad and Kathy gave him. He did stop playing long enough to take this great photo with the boys (or maybe this was taken prior to Zach’s nap…the beginning of the video game marathon).
And here is Chris with his BIG present that is really both a birthday and graduation gift…It was time for us to get a Digital SLR camera. Our point and shoot camera is good for quick stuff, but the dSLR will take such better pictures. And with some trips this year (Disney World and Jersey shore) it will be nice to have really good photos.
And for my last news of the week…
Zach has begun to go POOPY ON THE POTTY!!!! Woo Hoo! He did it on Sunday night and now goes on the toilet – pretty much daily but that may be too much information (TMI) and Zach will be embarrassed. This is definitely the big deal. Once Alex did this, he was full steam ahead. I do have some Mickey Mouse underwear for Zachy and I need to start getting him to wear them at home to get him used to underwear and move further along the road to “Bye Bye Diaper.”
